  1. Stream processors are what actually render the things you see on your screen. Some of them do vertex shading (the shapes you see in 3D games) and some of them work on pixel shading (the colors that fill the shapes.) For this reason, more is generally better. The more you have, the more graphics can be pumped out at a time. This is not always accurate because they are clocked at a MHz rate just like a CPU but in general more is better.

    Old graphics cards had separate vertex and pixel shaders, but newer ones use stream processors (which can flop back and forth depending on what is being demanded.) This is more efficient. Stream processors are way better than the pixel/vertex shader combo, so look for one with stream processors.


  2. Stream processors are what make the image. As a general rule, the more stream processors the better.
