What makes a guy fall in love with a girl?

Question

how do you know as a guy when you have fallen in love with a girl and what signs do you show to the girl to let her know?

also do you think the love you felt at 2 months into a relationship changes after 8 months?

I think in the beginning the guy falls in 'lust' 1st, (then love) because of what the female looks like & his 3rd leg. This has been the case with guys that I know. Everything is just the greatest in the beginning (the honeymoon period) then in most cases the bubble bursts.

The guy thinks he's found the perfect person then realizes that they have nothing in common (besides s*x), the littlest things start to bother him,etc.

I've been with the same guy for 20+ years, & I'm in the midst of leaving him. If I knew then what I know now I'd run, to realize all of the years I've wasted. At 2 months you really don't know that person, or even 8 months. When you can be yourself, have no secrets, let air out of places of your body & feel comfortable, then you can say you know that person. If you are still with that same person after 5 years, & they make your heart skip a beat when you see them or that you can't wait to come home from work to see them, then you know you're 'in love'.

You get irrationally anxious, think about her constantly, want to be with her, jealous, fixated on her above anyone else, try being near her all the time, etc., etc. Some times it is hard to between love, and either lust, or a crush - especially if you are younger.

What signs you show depends upon the guy and girl. If it is your best friends wife, probably nothing. If it is some girl in your class who you think likes you, maybe you ask her out. If it is a long term girl friend, maybe you say "I love you."

Yes, love changes over 6 months. If it is your best friends wife, you are now probably into obsession. If it was a girl in your class which you asked out, presumably you'd be moving to much longer term feelings such as protectiveness, comfort, tenderness, etc. If it was your long term girl friend, it would likely has similar feelings plus maybe a wedding ring.

There are many signs. To be very short and precise, when loving her feels the same as loving yourself then you know you are in love.
