Arrogance. Self confidence and money have absolutely nothing to do with it. If you are self confident that means you understand your worth, which means that you will know that you are neither better nor worse than others.

Money only gives the ones with no self confidence an excuse to be arrogant. However, ignorance can have a little effect, if you don’t know much, you will think that what you do know is a lot, the more you actually know, they more you believe that you don’t know – difficult to be arrogant if you are really knowledgeable.

Money----I no its wrong but most people feel they are better than other because of the amount of money they make o the amount they have.  My mother-in-law is this way.

Exposure to others. With that in mind I don't think I'm better than others, it's been proved to me time and time again so I can safely believe I'm better than anyone. It's something I know. I don't have to think it anymore.

If they have high self-confidence...

They'll probably watch other people a lot too, to see them make mistakes. If anyone does better than them they'll deny it or make excuses.

It's just how they think, some people hate admitting that other people are better at some things...
