  1. When a civilization's citizens are smart, and have sizable population, the chances of a geniuses born will increase (if the population grows), and then the geniuses will produce inventions and stuff to benefit all of the civilization's citizens. Just like the Chinese people. They used to be one of the most advanced in the world.

  2. The word "vibrant” isn't a scientific term. When applied to a civilization it suggests multicultural, with aspects that enables people to grow and develop to their potential. Also the arts often flourish.

"Grow" when used to describe a civilization, refers to the population, trade, industry and infrastructure. Population is important as a pyramid shape (base is the young) is preferred. As the base shrinks and the top expands you have less workers to produce and to provide care.

  3. A country grows through Capitalism. Most developing countries can't grow because they really can't even feed themselves. Literally. When people like Christopher columbus and the Spaniards came, they conqured a country making their soil fertile for just one thing. For instance, Nigeria only makes cotton, Philippines only makes rice etc. Those countries are still developing in theory, but in reality they can't go anywhere because unlike the U.S, their soil is not fertile. Our civilazation can prosper because we have fertile soil, and a monetary based economy rather than trade. Other countries have to trade in order to survive, they can't grow their own food, they have to import it into their country, and live off of the misery pay that the capitalist that own them decides to pay.
