  1. Imax screens go to above your head to the floor. Like a 90 degree angle. HUGEE. They are WAY bigger. I wouldn't go if you get queasy easily. It makes you a little dizzy. They're really awesome though!!

    :D

  2. IMAX theaters are enormous. The screen wraps all the way around you, so you feel like you are actually inside the movie. I love going to IMAX theaters for action movies because it always makes the scenes seem lifelike.

  3. the screen. It's HHHUUUGGEE

  4. IMAX uses a much larger film size to achieve greater clarity and as a result is also displayed on a much larger screen.

To correct one of the other posts, standard IMAX does not wrap around you, it is a flat screen just much larger than your standard movie theater.  What you're talking about is OMNIMAX where they use a fish eye (rounded) lens and you're sitting inside a huge dome shaped roof / wall... it is deffinitely more impressive than standard IMAX.

FYI, the IMAX at Bridgeport Village in Tualatin, OR is Standard, the one at OMSI in Portland is OMNIMAX.

// In addition, IMAX theaters have much more impressive sound systems... in the case of OMNIMAX the speakers are actually behind the screen and the screen has tiny hole to allow the sound through... I'm not sure if standard IMAX has this or not.

  5. imax has A WAY bigger screen, but it usually has old movies not new ones. There is also imax 3d,which you watch a 3d movie.

  6. a gigantic screen

  7. some movies like the dark night were made with an Imax camera, so the effect is beter in an Imax theater

  8. The screen is a lot bigger and the sound is louder!
