  1. i think mac's worth the money. its middle range..not too expensive not cheap. their eyeshadows are well worth the price...they last and are good quality. obv there are some shadows where you wont like the application but theyre all out in the store for you to try on your hand.

the added bonus for mac with me..is that you can return something if you come home and change your  mind. and its all out in the open for you to try and the MUAs will try to help you the best they can. its better to spend 16$ on a lipstick, realize you hate it 20 days later and you can still return it. whereas with drugstore prodcuts you cant try them all out before buying them..and return policies arent as solid.

maybelline and revlon are time tested products. theyre good brands. so don't shy away from them.

my advice: save your money to buy certain things from higher end stores, things that you know you'll use and will last you that you can't get in drugstores. like primers and such. go cheap on lipgloss (theyre almost all the same) and pencil liner...altho i love feline from mac its the best longest staying pencil eyeliner ive ever used). invest in your foundation...mascara is something you can cheap out on because its recommended you dump em every 3 mths anyway...and ive gotten really great mascaras from drugstores. never have regretted buying them. just don't go too cheap (dollar brands) go with brands that are worldwide trusted....and inquire about return policies on open packages.

  2. Just the well known label.  Everything else is the same

  3. It's only a name, that's what makes it more expensive!!! I have used designer makeup especially mascara and when i tried a drugstore brand it was way better than the designer name!

I use Loreal's Voluminous mascara in blackest black and it last so long, leaves no clump, thickens and lengthens. I will not switch again, it is seriously the best. Despite what most ppl think, Maybeline mascara sucks!!! It's not nearly as good as Loreal's. It costs about $7-$8.

For powder & foundation, use Clinique, it's light and natural looking and is not harmful for your skin. Here is where you should spend your money, the rest you can buy at your local drugstore. I just think foundation and powder is important and you should make sure your skin is healthy. Clinique will def do that for you.

Lipgloss, I like bath & body works Liplicious in fruit punch, it tastes amazing!

Eyeliner I use Milani's eye pencil in Black for like $6 or Loreal's pencil perfect in carbon black (not a pencil). Both lasts long!

Any blush will do, but i like Clinique because it helps keep me fresh and natural looking. However, if you want to use a drugstore brand for blush that is fine too. Cover girl, Maybeline, Loreal are all good with their blushes.

Mac is def NOT worth the money, their products contain so many ingredients that actually clog your pores! Clinique is a bit cheaper and looks so much better than MAC. Trust me! The only thing i like from MAC is their eyeshadows. The rest is not that great for your skin, many ppl break out bc of it.

  4. i dont think they will.

if you're worried about it, most of those brands have special products for sensitive skin.

but for the most part, they look exactly the same, and are cheaper.

  5. The more expensive brands have a stronger pigment, better coverage and fits what you want better.

There are two types of inexpensive brands. Good and bad!

If you go to a drugstore you can find all the big names like L'oreal, Revlon, Covergirl, etc. they are good and mimic the MAC cosmetics. Although they won't be on the very same level due to keeping prices low. Than there are those cheap ones that you have never heard of - or find at the dollar store - or made for kids as play make-up! Stay away from them.

To save money splurge only on the products that will last you for a really long time or if you want that pigmentation! blush, eye shadows, lipstick and foundation, etc. Definitely the powder eye shadows because they will last you over a year! - if they are taken care of.

Go cheap on the lip gloss, lip liner, eyeliner, mascara, eyebrow pencil, etc. they are virtually the same as the expensive brands. Since you replace them more often its not worth all that money!

For foundation and bronzer if you can find an inexpensive one you like go a head and buy it. Just because it is less expensive doesn't mean its harmful to your skin. Foundations are filled with minerals, sun protectants, and moisturizers ( to name a few) that benefit your skin!

L'oreal, Covergirl, etc. are brands that try to cater to girls on a budget and they do a good job. Just like how a Ferrari is expesive and looks good, you can get a chyrsler 300 , pontiac solstice, etc. for way under half the money which has looks and runs very good. The same goe for make-up

If you do decide to go for the expesive brands doesn't mean you have to pay the price either. Hold a MaryKay party and get some free make-up. Since you say your friends love the MAC make-up I'm sure they wouldn't mind going to your party - the more they buy the more you get!

Go to different stores aswell you may find that weird store to have nice make-up for a lesser price. If the store doesn't specialize in make-up it will be cheaper than one that does.

shop online, score some coupons. There is always ways to svae!

    Hope this helps you!

  6. I only spend a lot on a good foundation (so you can get that flawless look) and a good quality mascara.

As for the rest go with the cheaper brands

  7. expensive brands assure you of the quality, and they bet their name on it just to assure you that those brands are safe to use, convenient and worthy for your money... while cheap ones, well? they are almost alike but it doesn't assure you of any quality...

  8. I haven't bought too much of drugstore makeup, but I do have some and I do have some department store makeup as well.

In my experience, drugstore makeup doesn't work well for me. I think it's because higher end makeup is more heavily makeup, so you need less to create more. At the same time, expensive is not always better - sometimes you are just paying for the service and the luxury to try out the makeup and for the makeup consultants to customize it for you.

I bought an eyeliner from MAC and an eyeliner from Lise Watier (which, I guess, is a department store brand, but I bought it at a drug store). Both eyeliners didn't really like to stay on my face, but the MAC was easier to put on. The Lise Watier is very heavily pigmented, and sometimes it could be too much, and it's sort of waxy (it's waterproof) so it was hard to draw on.

I also bought Maybelline's Define-A-Lash, waterproof again, in the green tube. At home I use Clinique's High Impact mascara. The Define-A-Lash wasn't good at all, I had to put layers and layers and by the time I got it to the length I wanted, it looked like I overloaded and that it was clumpy. With Clinque's, I've never had this problem.

So basically, I am not trying to say that drugstore makeup is bad. I totally suggest buying some stuff on a budget and some stuff not. For example, foundation or concealer may be a good thing to buy from a department store so you can get your exact shade. Or, if you use a lot of eyeliner, buying a nicer eyeliner will do you better in the long run.

Personally, I really like Sephora's makeup. They have a lot of high-end makeup, but at the same time they have a lot of good priced makeup. For example, a really good eyeliner is the Sephora Brand and I think they're only about 4$ or so a pencil. Of course, as you add more stuff it gets more expensive, but that pencil was voted "Best of Sephora."

Makeup generally lasts a long time, unless you use it a lot. A good idea would be to layer and pair a drugstore makeup with a higher-end makeup. For example, if you use DiorShow mascara which is 28$ a tube, you could layer it with Covergirl Lash Blast or something. Put the DiorShow on, then layer over Lash Blast until you get your desired effect or something.

    Hope this helped.

    :)
