Question:

What makes food taste different when it is hot or cold? - the ingredients are still the same...?

I'm not talking about cooked versus non-cooked like cake batter versus cake- that's clear.

Example, ,

French fries or a burger or pasta - has one flavor when hot, a completely different taste when cold...

Anyone that can shed light on reason?

  1. Yeah good question, what is that buzz?

Cold pizza tastes way better than hot????

  2. When hot, the vapourization is more. So our olfaction (The ability to smell) is also more. Therefore the secretion of saliva is also more. And so finally we can taste hot food easily with a difference.

  3. well it depends... if its something like milk and u put it like in a microwave the air will kinda affect the milk and make it sour because of the bacteria, but if it is cold then the bacteria stay dormant so they don't make the milk sour. this goes for different foods

you wont want to eat cold beef would you
