What makes great parties?

Im having my birthday party soon and I was wondering what makes really cool parties or just like fun things to do is people get bored.

I think the people there is the most important part. If everyone is bouncing off each other well then no-one will get bored. However if people dont get on well or if people dont know each other very well then it can get boring and awkward so you will need lots of games, especially ice breaks. 'If You Love Me Honey Smile' is a really good ice breaker. You sit in a circle and the person in the middle goes up to some and says 'If You Love Me Honey Smile'. The person in the circle responds, 'I love you honey, but I just cant smile.' If they smile, they are in the middle.

I am older and entertain often. Card games are fun. If possible outdoor parties always get people going. Play up-beat music and supply an area to dance. But one of the most important things is seating, lots of it, a large group of comfortable chairs and small intimate groups that can be moved around easy. Good food and good company will automatically make a good party that guests will remember and talk about for a while.

Hey, I'm also turning 12 this year. I would say a whole bunch of people, games like pin the tail on the donkey, a pinata, if its not too late some football or basketball or any other sport you like, video games, music, etc. I really hoped i helped.
