What makes guys respect girls?

You can take one guy and he will respect one girl and not respect another. What are some of the reasons for this?

When a girl is obviously wayyy beyond the guy's hope of ever having a relationship with him.  A girl does not have to be beautiful; just rich and/or upper class and/or more educated and/or whatever.

I think girls respect guys for the same reason.

Classroom studies at universities have shown that two people in a relationship (friendship or romantic) show disrespect (yep, DISrespect) for each other more times than for strangers. Figure that one out!

I think anybody who shows disrespect for a stranger is an evil person. At least in a relationship, each one gets the opportunity to pay back disrespect with disrespect.

When they know they don't have any control of what she'll do or say, and they like what she's saying or doing. Girls who can be influenced to change their opinions are not respected. Cus that shows they are floozy's.

Even if you just like the person, you automatically respect them. It's human nature.

What would help is if women would act and look like ladys...... First impressions count and if her dress and demeanor speak s*x first then this would cause her to lose some respect..... Ladys that swear and speak in a crass manor will cause others to have no respect in her....

Let me start by saying only a true man will always respect a person, either it be a woman or another man.

What makes a man respect a women takes understanding, a women's thinking differs from a mans thinking.  

A mans respect for a women derives from a early childhood. It starts from the type of respect the father gave to the mother and how it was viewed by the boy. If he viewed the mother as someone who is only on earth to serve, his respect for any women will only be that. More than half of men brought up today are generally brought of thinking women are less that they are. which, in this critics eye is un-true.

Being brought up without a father figure was hard, but it was very informative way for this man to understand a women's way. I am heterosexual and have always been able to related to both s*x groups , but have always been able to relate better with women. I believe that stems from not having that father figure.

Most men are brought up swinging from what I call the nipple, they remain on that nipple till they are either married or they find a women stupid enough to put up with him and his need to continue swinging from her nipple, in general they never really grow up......EVER.

Most men are immature till a very old age. I think if men could only get in touch with that other half of their brain they could be viewed in an entirely different lite.

Things have changed over the last 20 to 30  years, and it shows, more and more men are stay at home, home makers. the change is slow but it is taking place.

It's either they like them or respect them because they did something impressive. I know why guys respect me because I'm straight forward and open minded also I don't play mind game with them and just tell it like it is. Also another reason the respect me is because I came beat them at there own game and not afraid to get down and dirty with the best of them.

Wow... this one really depends on the guy, really, as no two guys are exactly alike.

For me, personally, I respect a girl who thinks for herself and does not use her body for personal gain.  I respect a girl who stands up for what she believes is right.

What makes me NOT respect a girl is one who flirts or flaunts herself to get what she wants.  

Now, if you ask this question to another guy, they might give you the complete opposite answer.
