  1. Maybe because they're associated with grandmothers.  My favorite is sweet potato with lots of pecans.

  2. Pies are not necessarily "famous". It is a pastry that is EASY to make and always pleases the pallet.

The EATERS judge it as "famous". But they are not. They are just good.

Apple pie always fills me just right. MMMM good, MMMM good! Especially with a scoop of home made vanilla ice cream.

  3. ALL pies are delicious in my opinion, hard to pick a favorite but if I had to choose ---- it would have to be cherry pie.

  4. its the crust and the filling combo ........ my favorite is blueberry or lemon (but I don't get to eat lemon, because no one else likes lemon; and I don't want to have to eat a whole pie by myself)

  5. I think beccause there so many kinds and varieties and everyone loves Pie! and its easy to eat and make  and portable.

    KEY LIME PIE!!!!! =D

  6. Well I think pies are very American, especially pecan and pumpkin pies.

  7. I love pecan pie.

I think grandmothers made pies famous :-D

  8. hair pie is the most!!!!

  9. A famous one is from years of quality production and consistency.

A 1/2lb Godfrey's Mutton pie has to be a favourite in New Zealand. You pour on some Worcestershire sauce through the three round steam vents in the top.

You then holding it in you hand nibble around the 1" high crusty edge, and then pour the fat out.

They are high in fat, bad for your health and are sold by the thousands each day.

They are served hot, out of the pie warmer, in a brown paper bag that you eat out of.

  10. I love pie. I prefer pecan or apple. Mmmmmm...Delicious.
