  1. Strong characters who overcome the odds to find true love and a happy ending. A little bit of comic  moments along the way.

  2. I always feel more for the story, if there is some sort of conflict, or the characters are forbidden to be together, whether it's by feuds with families, or social status.

It can't just be lovey dovey, I like it when the characters get off to a bad start and really don't like each other. Opposites attract and all that.

You need to make the characters have a real personality so that we like them, but don't overdo it. We don't want perfect characters. It's good for them to make mistakes so that when they are together, thy help change each other for the better.

The characters need other things from life, not just each other, but they need each other to enjoy it.

They should make sacrifices for each other and remember that marriage is not the end.

It's nice to have an innocent relationship, not all about the physical part, because we really get the feel for the characters and know that they love each other, not just lusting after each other.

  3. Lots of struggles but a cheesy happy ending. Might be generic but it does the trick for me.

Characters I can relate to and come to love.

  4. anything that touches ur heart ...........make u want to be the person in the story even if it has a sad ending

  5. Boy meets girl

    Boy shags girl

    -fin-

  6. a hero who's madly, completely in love with the heroine (but not in a creepy way) and some big adventure they have to get through to live together happily. I like classic love stories.

  7. Well I must say I don't read many romantic books but there is usually a bit of love interest in the ones I do read.

They say the course of true love never runs smooth but for me I don't like it to be too rough once it has got going. A long build up is fine, plenty of "will they, won't they" action ... great! But once they have got together I don't like it when it's all "will they, won't they - just break up again" a good argument for a good reason is fine but lots of petty bickering - well that just ain't romantic.

  8. A lovely spot of Pimms with a nice firm crumpet.
