  1. Kosher pickles are generally cold brined, and thus, crispier. Non-kosher pickles are hot brined, and therefore less crispy. The latter can be found in McDonald's cheeseburgers.

But for anything to be Kosher, it has to be prepared in compliance with Kosher values.

    edit:

hot-brined = cooked to some degree

  2. good question...I thought kosher was the brand?

  3. because the ingredients aren't sanctioned by the Jewish rabbis for making Hebrew dishes

  4. I think it has something to do with the vinegar. Kosher pickles are brined in salt solution and the pickles are cured with salt, whereas average pickels are brined in vinegar. Vinegar comes from wine which is fermented with any number of things and clarified with egg sometimes. I think that may explain it but its just a hunch.

  5. It's a little confusing.  "Kosher pickle" is the name of a style of pickle rather than specifying whether or not it is kosher.   A sweet pickle can be kosher, but it's not a "Kosher pickle".
