I'm 18 and I have this fascination/dedication and emotional output in regards to the Vietnam War. My opinions and feelings towards it have an errie resemblance to surivors during the time period, I act like I was personally affected by not one single family member was.

(When I was 13 my dad told me if he ever went to the Wall he'd cry, he was born in 1954 and grew up around people killed. I knew exactly how he felt)

In contrast, half oif my family was killed in the Holocaust, aunt maternal grandparents were liberated and I don't get emotional at all towards the subject.

Am I just a crazy teenager?

  1. The Viet Nam war still bothers people today.

Most of which by how our government handled the whole situation, then turned their backs on the men and women that had served.

I don't know if you have ever been to the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, DC, but it's worth going to see.

It starts out as a black granite slate about knee high, with a couple of names on it, and then the walls get increasingly larger with THOUSANDS of names on it.

One can not walk away from it and not be touched by the casualties that war causes.

Essentially, it was kids that were sent over there to fight.

The survivors witnessed atrocities that still haunt their daily lives today.

And we're seeing the same thing again with the war in Iraq.

Bottom line........our government abuses its power.

They treat military personnel like pawns in a game.

It's cheaper for them if a person is killed in action, then someone with a life long disability.

  2. I too have felt things like this before-after being emotionally moved by something I hear and read in history class.  But it came and went.

If it is something that doesn't seem to pass, and I mean for years and years, then you might be on to something.

And think about when and how it started, did you first hear about  the feelings? Did you have the feelings when you first heard about the Vietnam war? Or could the feelings somehow have a tie to your family history-this may be linked with "intertwined mind" principles such as Jung and Rupert Sheldrake's morphic resonance theory.

  3. well an old soul is a soul that has lived many other lives before

  4. First, all teenagers are "crazy" as that their brains have not yet fully formed.

Second, old soul is a concept from reincarnation. I have provided you links below.

  5. Is this Deja Vu?? lol...I think you've put this question on here before..or one similar. I take it you haven't found the answer yet. The other day someone had a song on here...on a video...I played it and cried. I don't know if it was from the memories...but from the first time I ever heard it I cried..really a lot...but good crying not sad. Are you crying for grief...or because you're "touching" or "being touched" by these soldier's spirits. You know how if people have died and a long time later you went to Heaven and reunited with them? I know this hasn't happened to you  ..or me..but it reminds me of that. MAYBE there's something to reincarnation & MAYBE there are spirits of soldiers there who were close to you in another lifetime...or maybe they're just telling you that they're glad you care. You said your dad knew some of these people. Maybe they're glad to meet his daughter and that's their way of telling you .Or maybe you're picking up on your dad's feelings. There are some places that are considered "holy places" ...maybe this is one of them. I was at a psychic fair one time...and went in one of the buildings and started laughing...for no reason. They said that it had happened to other people too. I wanted to dance..but didn't. I don't know why. Maybe it's kinda the same thing that happens to you. Don't take it too personally . Love the ones you're with now...so you won't have to go through this later with them .(Do I sound like John Edwards.?lol)

Or maybe you said you hadn't been to the wall yet. Maybe you will..and you're having emotional premonitions of how it will be when you do go.

  6. MY DEAR CHILD,

YOU DON'T HAVE THE EMOTIONAL FEELINGS TOWARD THE SUBJECT BECAUSE, YOU DID NOT LIVE THOUGHT IT, YOU DID NOT SEE THINGS HAPPEN, PEOPLE DIE AROUND YOU AN THE WHO HORRIBLE THING...

YOU DID NOT HAVE SOMEONE WITH YOU YESTERDAY AN TODAY THEY WERE NO LONGER..

IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE A CRAZY TEENAGER..

YOU JUST  HAVEN'T LIVED THOUGH ANYTHING LIKE THIS.. THANK GOODNESS!!

ANOTHER EXAMPLE WOULD BE LIKE ANY ONE OF RECENT AN PASSED  SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY SHOOTINGS....

THINK OF ALL THOSE KIDS... WHAT THEY SAW, HOW THEY FELT, NOT KNOWING,   IF,   THEY WERE GOING TO BE NEXT WITH A CRAZED SHOOTER...

THEY WILL HAVE THOSE FEELINGS FOR LIVE..

THIS WOULD BE THE MODERN DAY VERSION OF WHAT YOU SPOKE!!!

AN DEAR AN OLD SOUL,  IS ONE THAT HAS LIVED MANY LIVES.BEFORE THIS ONE   [ SPEAKING OF PAST LIFE AN REINCARNATION].. I HAVE HAD 48 PAST LIVES... MY FRIEND 84 LIVES BEFORE THIS ONE... THAT'S WHAT THAT MEAN...

    LETS HOPE YOU NEVER DO....

I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU A LITTLE
