What makes starbucks so great?

For customers or employees? Starbucks tries to use and make everything fresh. They're coffee is brewed and supposed to be dumped out every 1/2 hr. They grind the coffee they're going to use 24hrs before brewing so that it can de-gas. Pastries come usually the same morning that they open and most of them have a shelf life of 24hrs. Almost everything there has a shelf life of 24hrs. Then it gets donated or tossed depending if there is a donation center to send it to. Their priority is customer service and speed and quality of service. Stores that don't have or use this are not being run properly. There's at least 2 weeks of hard training if your just a Barista including attending a class. The higher up you go on the corporate ladder the more training  you get.

The company offers terrific benefits for part time employees, although trying to keep the hours you want may be difficult depending on the store and management team. But as I recall you can work at least 20hrs a week and get full med/den/and vision. You also get a 30% discount on all items in the store and get to take home a free lb. of coffee a week. Or a box of tea. As a barista or supervisor you get tips where as management may not get tips but can receive bonuses. They offer tuition reimbursement for colleges as long as you pass the course and as long as it pertains to the guidelines of say business or business mgt. They offer stock plans and 401K for retirement. They can also assist you with children. Whether its for adoption or daycare.

There coffes are generally stronger than Second Cup or Tim Hortons. No one makes A vanilla Latte like Starbucks- Everything just has that full bodeied taste- with no bitter aftertaste that you so often find.

The coffee, the atmosphere, the ports where you can plug in your internet, and of course the awesome staff!

They also have pretty good baked goods & you always feel awesome when you go in there! Totally friendly, and respectable environment!

it makes people feel important because it shows every one that they are so busy that they cant stop to make coffee . Also because it is a brand name people know what they are getting. Starbucks also appears in a lot of movies in which people look like they are having a great time and being busy and important.also fashion comes in many different shapes

it is an affordable luxury..  maybe you don't feel like you can spend hundreds of dollars on designer duds, but $3-4 for a once a week coffee treat?  that might be different..
