What makes that ronaldo freekick vs pompey so good?

People are saying that it is the best free kick they have ever seen but to me it was just a freekick. sure it was precise and accurate but i dont see why it is so over hyped.

its not the best free kick ever, thats for sure, but it was hyped cos it was unique. i have never seen a free kick struck like that, it didnt curl at all, but it dipped incredibly. like people say, it cleared the wall and still managed to dip into the top corner. that technique is incredibly hard but he'll never do it again. it definitely beats your basic swerving free kick, but i think juninho pernambucano's free kicks from the half-way line are more impressive

Not only did he get it up and over the wall but he got in it precisely the top right corner.

just try and do it yourself, i think this will explain why its so good, i agree there is a lot of hype about certain things but he gets the ball up and over the wall and down into the corner of the net STRAIGHT with incredible power.

Because the physics of the ball made no sense. He hit the ball forward, but why would the ball be able to dip at so much speed without changing direction.

It isn't the greatest free kick I've seen. But its different to any other free kick
