  3. When it rains and it is still sunny, the white light from the sun shine through the droplets. These act like prisms and split the the white light into the 7 primary and secondary colours it is made of - red orange yellow green blue indigo violet.

    The same thing also happens with waterfalls, fountains and sprinklers.

    and so rainbow is formed
