What makes the land around Bucharest unique in the southern part of the region?

It sells for a lot more money?  Are you speaking of topography, because in that case, there isn't a huge difference. I have noticed it is a bit greener around Bucuresti than say in the agricultural region between Tecuci and Buzau.  I notice no difference in respect to the lay of the land though.  The area around Bucuresti received lots of money during the communist era to aid development, so there are more and better quality roads than in other regions and many villages are more well developed in terms of electricity, well water, etc...
