  1. Its not pollution... though yellow smog could make it seem redish. The natural phenomena of the moon looking red is seen when the moon is low in the sky. When this low the light from the moon must travel through more air to reach your eye. Red light has longer wavelengths than other colors so all but red light is filtered out when passing through all that extra air. Its the same reason the sun appears red during the sun set.


  2. I wanna say it is due to pollution in the air, but i could definitely be wrong :)
