What causes a still birth?  Or what causes a miscarriage?  

Miscarriages are unknown.  They really don't know it can be caused by many things.  Still birth could be cause because something went very wrong and they did not catch it in time.  Many other factors can cause it.

There are so many things that can go wrong, it is amazing it goes right as often as it does. I do high risk deliveries and I have seen some really bad things happen and the best thing I can say is not medical at all. I believe that babies who die go to be angels as only those with no sin can become angels and once born we get to know sin quickly and although we can go to be with God we can not be angels. So these babies are the chosen ones. Now, If you want to get all medical  there are many reasons a pregnancy terminates many are genetic disorders and infections, or the cord can get a knot in it or wrap around the  baby causing a strangulation. These are just a few of the things that can go wrong so I prefer the angel idea and leave it up to a higher being.

What? You need to be more specific. Are you asking about miscarriages? Most of the time there is no explanation except there were "chromosomal abnormalities".

This is always a very sad situation.

Unborn babies die or don't develop for a number of reasons, normally due to an abnormality in the fetus for example chromosomal complications.

There are many causes. New research has actually found that 80% of still births and many miscarriages are caused by common virus, so hopefully in the next couple years there will be many less deaths.
