  1. Well... if this employee is one of your best, i would defiantly keep him/her. But if this employee is just absolute no help to you, then just let him/her go. i hope this was any help

  3. Uh...they wouldn't be, if it was my decision.

    A year vacation? Not even a "family emergency" warrants that. Most places fire you if you are gone for over a month - they need someone there to physically work, and don't have time for people to play the extra long vacation game. She wouldn't get a promotion if it was up to me - you have to WORK for promotions.
