What makes you proud to be an American Citizen, or proud of America?

It seems that we have a lot of people dislike the USA for whatever reason. However I have to believe there people who love their country.

The basic friendliness of people on the streets.

Americans are kind. But they are also beaten down by a rotten system and not too happy about it. So sometimes, particularly in major cities, there can be a lot of fear and tension.

But basically the american people are good at heart, I still believe. Despite the terrible attitudes of the people who run our government now.

I love that I can walk outside and gossip with my friends about how much we hate our president

I love that for every person or animal or condition in need, there are people in america trying to help them

I love that when I walk outside I see dreads, cornrows, weaves, blond, brunette, redheads, shorts, jeans, and an array of different colored eyes and skin colors

I love america because we know our flaws, but still we stand united

I love the diversity amongst the citizens where i live, i dont like the greed that has corrupted my country.

I agree with the last two posts above . . . and proud that there are many others in ecological organizations, communities and third parties still active and fighting for a bright and sustainable future for this nation.

The thing that makes me the proudest to be an American is our generosity.  When there is trouble or a natural disaster we are the first to offer a helping hand.

A lot of cultures don't understand our culture, just as we do not understand a lot of others cultures out there.  Being judgmental is our weakest characteristic; and we fall victim to that same scrutiny.

America is still the best country on Earth!

If I had to pick one I would say how we as a gov and people give so generously to other nations and their people in times of suffering and need......I think what americans give compared to other nations is beyond comparison.....
