What makes your favorite player your favorite player.?

My brother just text me and said he met Pascal Dupuis at the mall a few minutes ago. =\ lol i'm jealous... he's my favorite of the army/crusher trade... so then it made me think of this question:

what makes you like your favorite player? is it his ability to pass the puck, his amazing stick handling, or something else?

I like Ryan Malone because he seems to have chemistry with everybody he plays with. Although he has a specific line, he could go out on the ice with anybody and be able to mesh well with them..

Chris Drury is my favourite player because he's such a defensive forward and has a knack for goal scoring.

Although sometimes the last name can be a factor in my decision, if there's a guy who's mediocre with an amazing last name, he's my favourite player.

My favorite player right now is Nik Lidstrom. I play defense myself. I love how steady and controlled he plays. He plays with calmness and can still make the exciting play. I aspire to play like that

My favorite player on my team would be Jarrko Ruutu...why....because I think he would be a ball to hang out with...he's passionate about the game but he's funny and my god that smile makes me bust out laughing everytime I see it.

My favorite player in the NHL...I'm probably a trader for saying this but...Henrik Lundquist..He's a leader and I really admire that..he's also an amazing goaltender.

Dion Phaneuf.

As much of a goon that he is, he makes some crazy hits and doesnt give up. It must be hard for him with A.O and Sid being the young guns and he doesn't get recognized as much.

A lot of the time forwards get all the credit but h**l has that man got a slapshot on him.

pavel datyuk, he is so skilled with the puck that he can pull of moves that no one would ever think of. and 99% of the time he is 1on 1 with a goalie he will score

Marian Hossa. Ever since he was a Senator, his hustle and heart have been impressive. I didn't get to follow him as much in Atlanta, but now that he plays home games 30 minutes from my house, I get to see him play all the time. a treat to watch. the diving play against the Rangers on the PP to keep the puck in mthe zone last series was awesome, and he's been great throughout the playoffs. To all the people who labelled him a choker: Eat your hearts out. He has the exact same point totals as Malkin (who is so much more highly touted,) and no one is talking about him, with the exception of a select few. He's a star, and I hope we hold on to him after the year.

Even though this question has to do with players, I think this should not rule out goaltenders. My favourite player is Miikka Kiprusoff. He plays with passion and knows how to win under pressure. Also he has been up near the top in wins for the last 3 years.

Mike Richards.

He's just a beast.  He seems to do everything right.  Great young player with grit and skill.  Perfect guy to wear the orange and black.  He really personifies the Rocky type of the city.

I'm thrilled he'll be around town for the next 12 years :)

My favorite Player is Evgeni Nabokov. The reason i like him is beacause he is such a good leader and knows how to pull the team wen theyre down. Also i think he is the best golakeeper in the nhl today

Because I love the way he plays the game, he is fast, he has great stick handling, and he can pass.

Plus everytime i see him stand next to Lecavalier i laugh because he is so much shorter. And he is just a great guy.

My favorite player has to be Jaromir Jagr. Even though I am a Flyers fan, I greatly appreciate Jagr's love of the game and his dedication to the sport. He's one of those guys at practice who arrives first and is the last one to leave. I'm not sure how anyone cannot respect Jagr.

My favorite player is Martin Erat.

Erat caught my eye with his play in the WHL and i've followed him since.  I love the fact that he is a relative unknown outside of Nashville.  The guy has a great wrister and excellent puckhandling skills.  Its great to see him excel to the point where he's a vital part of the Predator's organization.  The Crosbys and Ovechkins all have enough fans and then some so its nice to root for guys that don't share the same spotlight.  With Erat signing a huge deal recently, my dream of him coming to SJ is all but gone...but i'm happy for the kid!

My favorite is Brian Gionta.  I really respect his hard work, persistence, and dedication.  In college, his coach told him that he better get an education because he wasn't going to make it in hockey because of his size.  And you know what, he made it to the NHL, despite the fact that he was a late draft pick (third round, 82nd pick).  

In the 2005-2006 season he broke the Devils' record (previously held by Pat Verbeek for most goals scored on the team) with 48 goals.  Gionta also played all 82 games, and he never takes a night off.  Every game, he gets beat up because everyone else picks on him because of his size, but he doesn't take c**p from anyone.  (Haha, he even started shoving Zdeno Chara!)

So I respect the hard work he put into hockey to make it to the NHL, despite what everyone told him, and the fact that he can stick up for himself and doesn't take anything from anyone.  Gionta even sticks up for his bigger, tougher teammates, even though he's the smallest player in the NHL.  Not only that, but he's a pretty d**n good player too.

Haha, so as you can see, he's definitely my favorite.

my favorite players are martin brodeur & kirk maltby. marty's the man & maltby was my fav of the grind line & i've liked him for a long time. he isn't as great as he used to be, but he's still my favorite player.
