What makeup brand from department stores and/or sephoras do you think is best?

I can't decide what makeup brand to commit to for most of my makeup! SUCH A DIFFICULT DESCISION! I was looking into Benefit but then I see it makes some people break out and I have oily skin so I'm not so sure about that brand. Then I looked into Clinique but someone said they used harsh chemicals? So what brands do you think are best? Clinique, benefit, MAC, smashbox, stila etc etc....

I hate Clinique... if you're prone to break outs, don't buy Clinique. That brand is generally good for people who have mostly clear skin anyways.

I think Bare Minerals is great, sold at Sephora. I use their products for make up and also under eye treatments by them.

I also like Dior. I like their SkinFlash concealer/highlighting pen, its a nice makeup tool to have.

As far as makeup brand, I'm going with Bare Minerals. In Sephora, theres always a trained makeup artist to help you pick the best colors for your skin. Bare Minerals looks natural and applies easily, also conceals better than liquid I think.  Its not harsh on the skin...I was prone to break outs but have had good results from using this make up. No skin irritation at all.... I highly recommend mineral make up.

Philosophy is a good brand for skin cleansers!

I just wanted to let you know bare escentuals doesn't have preservatives because they don't need them, the minerals are inert, which means they never go bad (just rocks and rocks don't mold).  I hope you give minerals a chance the products are not to expensive, last a long time,  cover great, r a healthy choice 4 your skin (they have a natural spf) and look amazing in all kinds of light.  Good Luck

I only trust on my face:

Clinique i been using it for a while(2 years) and I love it and i have sensitive skin so far nothing bad just good results. & Mac is ok.

Quality Beauty Products are worth it. But you have to remember to start off with great skin. Your makeup will only look as good or bad as your skin. Drink plenty of water, cleanse and moisturize.

For face makeup i highly recommend Bare Minerals. Before you shoot down that idea, the powder foundation works wonders when paired with the Photo Finish Corrector by Smashbox. It goes on before the powder and makes it last all day. If you are daring with your makeup, i suggest Too Faced.

It's hard to find one brand for everything because different brands specialize in different products. If you want to go that route, i suggest the following:

Face: Bare Minerals

Primer and skincare: smashbox

Eye makeup: Too Faced or Hard Candy

Lip makeup: Stila, Urban Decay or DuWop
