Question:

What makeup is best for me?

I am 11 years old and going into middle school, sixth grade, this year. I never wore real makeup to school before except lip gloss and all light stuff. First of all, I need to ask my mom for help and I don't really talk to her a lot about stuff like that! And she always let me pluck my eyebrows a little bit, but now I want to pluck them so they look perfect. People are different in my town, everyone acts a lot older than they are, so don't tell me I'm not old enough! And I remember when I was in like 2nd grade, I asked my mom if I could wear makeup and she said no, you can start in middle school. My sister who's almost 18 starting wearing makeup in 7th grade, but things changed! OK here's the real question finally!:

I have white skin, kind of tan and golden.

Some people say my eyes are hazel, and some people say they're brown. My eyes are kind of big. What color eyeliner should I wear?

My lips are a normal shade I guess, and normal shape.

What kind of makeup should I wear?

I have an oval shaped face and my hair is brown, very thick, and I have a LOT of it! How should I do my hair?

Oh, this is sort of out of the question, but am I fat?! I am 4 feet and 11 inches tall, you could say 5 feet, and 90 pounds.

Thanks for your help!

  1. No, you aren't fat. I know it's a cliche, but go as natural as you can. Tinted moisturizer, gel/liquid blush (apply the tinted moisturizer over the blush. It looks like it's coming from under the skin). Navy blue eyeliner looks good on all eye colors. An aubergine/purple eyeliner would also look nice. Black or black/brown mascara - but not too much. My lashes are pretty sparce, and I love Almay One Coat. As far as lips go, I'd just do a balm or a gloss. Who has time to reapply lip color all day? Have fun with it - that's what makeup is all about. As for your hair, maybe long layers. Anything too short will make it puff outward if it's too thick.

  2. wear a little lip gloss, curl your eyelashes if you need to (this needs practice) and then apply mascara. This opens up your eyes.

don't wear foundation/ concealer unless you absolutely need it. In the mean time, get some pressed powder and apply a little bit with a big face brush. don't use the sponge round thing, it looks cakey.

don't wear eyeliner, it looks bad unless you're over 16. and even then sometimes it doesn't. I know, i know "people grow up fast" in your town, but that doesn't change what looks good and what doesn't.

get an extremely light bronzer to brighten up your complexion. you really shouldn't even notice it. Most girls make the mistake of getting a bronzer that's too dark, and it looks horrible. but they think they look good.

you really don't need makeup, i didn't start wearing anything until i was 15. just mascara, bare minerals, and brow color to define my browsa. (I'm 16 now) And honestly, people seem to like me a lot more than the girls who have worn makeup since they were 11. And the whole eybrow thing, i didn't start plucking mine until this time last year (right before 10th grade).

another thing, people probably will make fun of you if you wear too much. because honeslty, it doesn't look good. When i'm out driving, i see these little 12 year old girls wearing more makeup than i do in a month, and they look like little hookers. so please, if you wear makeup, save yourself the embarassement.

    and DON'T over-pluck your eyebrows.

no, you're not fat. you're normal.

  3. You should wear: Black eyeliner, Foundation, Lip gloss. That's all and remember to apply very little amount. For your hair i think you should curl your hair (do big curls) and leave it loose. Or if not straighten it and you can just grab it with a clip. And as for the other question i don't think you are fat but i don't know you personally so that's just what i think. Hope i helped.!

  4. Hey, im going into middle school too (7th grade)  but my moms a makeup artist and works for Chanel so she gave me plenty of tips!  Well the natural look is totally in, so don't over do it.  I usually use a nice lip gloss (shiny) and mascara and eyeliner. Or i use Lip gloss mascara and eyeshadow.  For middle school don't use mascara eyeshadow and eyeliner at one time...its a little much.  So change it up..some days use mascara and eyeliner and others just use mascara and eyeshadow.  And be sure to only use a little eyeshadow and only on the lid don't do the space below your eye brow its a little much and you dont want to look like a raccoon.  Good luck!

  5. go for the smokey eye look.

  6. You are not fat by any means I am going into the 7th grade this year and  I am 5 foot 1 inch and I weigh 114 pounds and I am not even overweight. I started wearing makeup just like you in the 6th grade. I also plucked my eyebrows JUST A LITTLE in the 5th grade. Now my mom is letting me shape them as perfect as I can. Try using natural products so you wont harm your face cause from your description  you sound really pretty! Use a brown eyeliner and a brown mascara use a little bit of blusher to little spots on your face just to define them and maybe cover some things up make sure it is a creamy color kinda like your skin. Then maybe buy an eyelash curler to pump up the volume in your lashes and use some age appropriate eye shadow colors like pinks or browns maybe some blues but nothing like bright green or bright pink and purple,    to tell you the truth those colors make people look really ugly. I know it might sound like a lot but it really is not. Make-Up is to define your beauty not create beauty. Try to find a good brand tweezer to pluck your eye brows. i hope you find this information helpful!

  7. hi so yeah i understand you wanting to wear makeup at your age its completly normal, just remember it looks unnatractive to wear heavy makeup to school so whatever colors i tell you to use, just use in moderation. You are 11 so eventhough you want to look pretty, just remember simpler is always better. Anyways.. with your coloring i would reccomend copper, gold, and different shades of brown eyeshadows. They look the best on brown eyes by far. Always wear mascara and some color on your lips so you dont look washed out. If your skin is clear then just brush on a little blush or bronzer and if its not then put foundation/concealer to cover up and redness or blemishes. Hair: I personally think that your hair always looks better it's natural texture, like if your hair is very curly learn how to make it look its best instead of spending so much time on flat ironing it straight. But anyways, if you want to curl your hair then use a spray/gel on your hair when it's damp and lightly scrunch it while blowdrying it on low, and if you have bangs flatt iron them or pin them back. Flat ironing hair isn't hard, look that up on youtube. I'll post some examples below and also trust me you are NOT FAT. Seriously just get over your weight issues it's not attractive to ask people if your fat.
