  1. Dont bover wearing foundation.

If you must, use a tinted moisturizer.

Clear mascara, for a natural look.

A small tub of blusher. 1 tone darker than your skin colour.

  2. Lip gloss, eyeliner, mascara, some basic neutral shadows.

Since you're starting out, play with a bunch of drugstore brands to save money. Once you find out what you like move up to department store brands and Sephora for the more pigmented bright colors.

  3. mascara is no#1 essentual and any form of lipgloss ... always have them 2 handy in your hand bag =] x

  4. MAC has suitable colours for darker skin tone.  Bobbi brown also is suitable for darker skin tone.

For Drugstore brands , you can try Iman cosmetics

Make Bourjois duochrome eyeliners your best friend, the colours look neon but on darker skins it looks pretty.

    Eyeshadow colours

    Emerald Green

    Vivid violet

    Gold

    Royal blue

    Copper- red

    Neon yellow

    hot pink

Blush colour- Bobbi Brown apricot or raspberry

Lip colours like berry red , wine , true red , mauve  pink will look great on your skin tone. ( eg NYX lipstick in black cherry )

Lipgloss - NYX lipgloss in Sliverplum

    Clear lipgloss is essential

Mascara - Maybelline XXL Mascara in the darkest black

  5. have to have mascara and lipgloss

  6. Mascara Eyeliner Lip Gloss

  7. the essentials:

    1. mascara

    2. blush

    3. lipbalm (if it counts as makeup)

    4. a neutral shaded eyeshadow quad

    5. a good black liquid eyeliner

those are the basics i need, and they take around 5 minutes to put on (10 if im being extra careful).

i loooove shiseido and dior, their products are of amazing quality and the packaging is way cute. you would suit any browns/caramels, but id stay away from overly bright colors because they dont suit anyone (unless your name is Galaxia and you work at a strip bar)

  8. good brands to try are the ones that are good for your skin so try neutrogena and clinique. you should always have something for your eyes, cheeks, and lips(:

  9. okay first off things you should basically own. im just going to use MAC as a refrence so its easy for you to look it up online and see for yourself but you don't need that brand of brush. you can use any brand you prefer. i'd simply recommend going somewhere where you can actually try the makeup before buying it. and btw i'm west indian (brown).

starting with what you'd use first...skin care! wash tone and moisturize always.

you don't need this but a primer is always nice. a face primer like MAC's Matte is always great because your makeup will stay on longer.

if you've got blemishes or undereye circles you're going to need concealer. always in a shade or two lighter than your skin. the type of concealer is upto you (cream, liquid, powder) depending on the type you'd need a brush or you can use your fingers but always use your ring finger when applying anything with your fingers on/around your eye..it pulls on the skin the least = less wrinkles!

foundation in your color of course, depending on your skintype you'd use a liquid (dry) or powder(oily). or even both! i use MAC mineralize satinfinish with spf and the mineralize skinfinish natural. always set your makeup with a powder like MAC's sheer loose powder (in your shade of course) or i use fix+ from MAC it's a setting spray that can be used for many things but that's a whole 'nother post lol.

i'd start with duos quads or sets of eyeshadow that suit your eyecolor. try basic soft looks. purple and green bring out brown eyes (i'm only familiar with what colors work for brown eyes because mine are brown sorry if yours arent!) then you can work your way into buying individual ones that you like (you'll get used to matching colors together). basic need: two or three duos or quads

mascara...a clear one for day is always nice. then of course your classic black. zoomlash from MAC is great and plushlash is my favorite but its more dramatic..its lots of volume and length. then of course build your collection with colors..starting with blue and brown. basic need: one black. maybe a clear too.

eyeliner. for pencil..feline from MAC is the best longest lasting one i've ever used. as for liquid...i'd start with their liquid eye liner it has more of a felt tip which is easier to work with. then you can move on to something with a brush tip like their liquidlast and then even use their fluidline (i swear by their fluidline in blacktrack) with a 209 brush. obv start with black then move onto other colors. so i'd say basic needs: one black pencil, one black liquid liner.

brushes (the numbers are the number of the brush sold at MAC go on the website and search for the number it'll come up): at least one eyeshadow brush (but if you could get one regular flat brush like the 242, one crease brush like a 275 or a crease/blending brush like the 217 you'd be set). if you use brow shader then a brush like the 208 for that. and if you use cream liner you'd need something like the 209.

for face: youre going to need a blush brush like the 116, a big powder brush for loose powder like 134 or get a basic two in one like the 129. if youre going to contour your face (if your face is super round or you want to look it to look slimmer) you'd need a contour brush like the 168. if youre using mineralize skinfinish or something similar you'd need a brush like the 182. it's also nice to have for buffing out your foundation sometimes when youve got too much on or its not blended out properly.

for lips you don't really NEED brushes but one lip brush it'll do you good for a long time.

i hope i helped..and if you can take anything away from this post let it be this: blend, blend, blend. a big mistake i see alot of women do is that they do not blend their makeup out properly and instead of looking beautiful and enhanced they look like clowns.

edit: disagree on the bright makeup for strippers comment. any color can be worn as long as it is of good quality and in the right way. i.e. you can't wear bright eyeshadow smeared all over your lid but if its blended right with the right colors, any bright eyeshadow can be worn. give it time and and you'll pick up which eyeshadows can be worn together and how bright eyeshadows can be worn. still have no clue? youtube has a bunch of great tutorials. personal faves: queenofblendingMUA, monroemisfitmakeup and panacea81. enkoremakeup is great for info..not so much on technique. alot of ppl like pursebuzz (pursebuzz.com) i go to her website but i hate her tutorials she talks wayyyyy too much.
