  1. Interesting, Elmyr - thanks for looking that up. I thought for sure it would be Federer. sigh. He broke so many other records.

  2. 46-Guillermo Vilas (July-Sept. 1977)

    44-Ivan Lendl (Sept. 1981-Feb. 1982)

    42-John McEnroe (Jan.-May 1984)

    41-Bjorn Borg (Oct. 1979-April 1980)

    41-Roger Federer (Aug. 2006-March 2007)

    35-Bjorn Borg (May-Aug. 1978)

    35-Thomas Muster (April-June 1995)

    35-Roger Federer (June-Nov. 2005)

    31-Bjorn Borg (May-Aug. 1979)

    31-Ivan Lendl (Aug.-Nov. 1985)

    30-Jimmy Connors (July-Oct. 1978)

    29-Bjorn Borg (Oct.-Nov. 1977)

Edit: Nadal has the record winning streak on a single surface, but not overall.

Edit: Nadal's current winning streak is 29 matches, so he'll be moving up the list.

  3. correct me if i am wrong but i think its nadal who has 81 consecutive wins at clay which was halted by federer last year during the finals in hamburg last year.  he broke the records previously sent by villas. SORRY - THIS IS ONLY FOR CLAY........AND THEREFORE DOES NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO YOUR QUESTION. Nevertheless, with Nadal's recent win at Toronto, he already registrered his 29th win in a row (clay, grass to hardcourt).
