I understand that there is a rosette on the horn, but supposedly another brand has that too. it all depends on the number of petals,

  1. Good question ,,

Many people think they own a REAL Billy Cook saddle and they do not and many other saddles

Many horse traders have it down to a system on how to change tags logos e.t.c

Simco is a descent made saddle not the best but a good saddle , They where at one time one of the best yrs ago ,,

They have a stamp on the chich holder, that says ,,simco and on other places like on the skirt with  and simco in the middle

I do not think its on the pedles ,, the saddles ARE STAMPED

    with their name ,,

many old horse traders will exchange skirts with a cheaper on ,, so be careful , They where made light weight and some costume made for Arabians ,, back in the 70 ;s

Take some one that is older and knows what a simco looks like

Better yet go to the web site and call the company to find out

if you have a real one or a fake ,,

Simcos are well made saddles and if cared for right it will last 30 yr or better ,, if you buy one that is older then 30 yrs old and in good condition for under 300 Buy it ..

    It's well worth it
