  1. CQB is a pretty broad umbrella.  Its like saying they practice Karate...doesn't really narrow it down.   Krav Maga, Blauer Tactical, and many others teach it their own way.  I'm sure there are some very basic techniques taught to soldiers on a basic training level, but that training is very elementary.  The U.S. military uses many diffrent sources on the elite levels and I'm sure the Brits are no different.  Of course, something has really gone to sh*t if fighting goes hand to hand, so I doubt any of them spend too much time on it.

  2. dunkin' master and

    tea'qwandao.

  3. in world war 2 the hired a guy called we fairbairn and he created a art called defendu which is easy to learn but now i think the just practice many different techniques from around the world

  4. The New Zealand SAS uses a system called CQB (Close Quarters Battle).  I believe the British army uses something similar.

  5. I was stationed in the US Air Force Security Police from 1976-1986 and was assigned to RAF Upper Heyford, England during part of that time. We had RAF soldiers and British Army soldiers who trained in the dojo we had on base. Tae Kwon Do and Karate was very popular there during this time. I sat in on a class of British soldiers who were learning what they called CQC which is Close Quarters Combat. It was taught by a Judo instructor, a karate instructor and several SAS (Special Air Service) instructors. It focused HEAVY on Judo and Aikido or Jui-Jitsu techniques.
