  1. Taekwondo is awesome for legs, abs, and back strength. You do do a lot of pushups, but the focus is on the core and the legs.

  2. Most martial arts where created for self-defence and they where never intended for competition. But a side effect of competition is the opportunity to see and compare between different styles and strategies. The greatest martial art masters I can recall all mastered one style and using this style as their core they learned from other styles to better what they all ready knew making it even better.

  3. I'd say wrestling beause if you can wrestle good you can dictate the fight pace like if you can out strike your opponent sprawl and brawl if you think you feel more comfortable on the ground take them down. Also, after you wrestle, atleast for me, jiu-jitsu comes pretty easy.

  4. kyokushin karate has mean training ;:p

or grappling arts, muay thai , boxing...+ powerlifting

  5. Mixed Martial arts is a very good training, muy thai is also another recommendation

  6. Karate

  7. Learn how to Wrestle, grappling etc build up in body mass dont have to be Hugh, more in the middle range, weights is good. Learn some martial art moves from different styles.

TaeKwon do for kicks, close combat kungfu,Akido etc, Learn ground fighting, Boxing is also great. Remember size doesn't matter only if you know what you are doing.

  8. Taibo haha

  9. It depends what you want to get out of Martial Arts... as well as strength

Not all martial arts spend each day doing weights etc to become stronger (not that they don't do it, I have just never been to one.)

Maybe combining both a gym session with weights and martial arts could be a way to go, you'd be getting strength up as well as learning self defence and being able to get in situations where you can put your strength and knowledge

to the challenge (by sparring etc)

You could ask a group of people and they'd tell you different martial arts and what they get out of it, a good thing to do would be to go see the classes (I recommend twice as you can see different things they do) and see for yourself if you'll get anything out of it.

As some martial arts rely on kicks, while others look more at upper body movement and some use both.

Also, it depends on the Instructor and the Place of training as to what you'll get out of it.

Good luck in finding a Martial Art...

  10. wrestel for sure.  then striking , punching, knees, kicks, then jits
