  1. You used to be able to use a powder called Cymag, which was cyanide based.  Think it was banned though.  I used to use carbon tetrachloride, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it!

  2. Not sure but a rolled up copy the |TV Times does a wonderful job...as does sucking it up with the hoover pipey bit and then stuffing the end with tissues so the bugger cant crawl out again!

Sorry sweetie, I don't think I'm being very helpful.

  3. There are a number of insecticides that are useful for this, ranging from quick knockdown materials like pyrethrins to real nasties that have to be applied by a licensed professional, like methyl bromide.

Not all insecticides are available in all areas, and not all are available to unlicensed users.  (And, speaking as a biologist, I'm not sure most folks should be handling anything much more lethal than a flyswatter.)

If you're going to use insecticides, be sure you apply it in accordance with the complete directions for the insecticide, for a pest that it's registered for.    Temperature, humidity, mode of application and life stage of the organism all make a big difference in control.

  4. What ever you do don't use Cymag- this is CYANIDE and for killing rabbits down their burrows.

    Wasp sprays usually contain permethrin.

Wasp nest dust will contain either Bendiocarb or permethrin.

  5. Ortho wasp and hornet killer works well and its not commercial.  I had my house sprayed for wasps this year and the chemical the company used was called cyonara 9.7.

  6. I don't know what the professional stuff is called but my dad figured out dish soap and water in a spray bottle does the job just fine. At least he says it does.
