I want to put a bunch of velcro (the hooks side) on the backs of some of my polaroid pictures and stick them to a a really huge sheet of some material on my wall so that you can take the pictures down to look at but most of the time they will be stuck on the sheet. I was thinking a large sheet of felt would do the trick, but I was also thinking there may be a better alternative.

  1. velvets, veloures, and velveteens are all good fabrics for this. Sometimes felts work too. it depends on how tight the surface is on the felt.

It will also stick to woolen fabrics, but I don't think you want to go there. $$$$

  2. If you notice the loopy part of velcro will stick to everything even when you don't want it to.  Ever get a piece stuck to your favorite sweater?  Ruins it when you pull it off.  Felt should work.  That's how they did it in kindergarten when they put pictures up to teach you things.

  3. Velcro

No only joking, look in office or shool supply sites, they have fibrous boards that are designed for velcro pads on flat cards and shapes.  Schools used them all the time at primary level, have been used for weather men and have you ever seen TOP GEAR on uk TV they have the cool wall and fastest lap times on these boards

  4. There is.  You can get proper Velcro-friendly fabric, as used on display boards:

    Or by the yard: http://www.augresources.com/vindex.html?...

  5. Felt, fleece or any knit material is fine. To make it firm, you could staple it to a big piece of cardboard.

    .

  6. Velcro will stick to soft and small-haired items.
