Well, This kid just came from D.R((Dominican Republic)) but hes really from puerto rico. Well that's not the point. I need to help him study 10th grade math for a test coming up this thursday, so i was wondering what type of math 10th graders do. For Example, Algebra 2, Geometry, etc. I'm now in 9th and in Gifted classes so i JUST finished doing geometry. So if anyone can help me by telling me what kind of math they do i would appreciate it. (:

  1. Freshman: Algebra

    Sophomore: Geometry

    Jr: Algebra II

    Sr: Trig

Thats at least at my school

  2. He could be at or above your level, or way below it, coming from another country (DR), my experience with exchange students is that different countries place emphasis in different areas, however I would guess that he is doing Algebra 2 or Geometry, but did you try just asking him? That's what I do when I am tutoring.

  3. When I was in 10th- we took Geometry first semester, algebra I the next semester. Good luck tutoring. you should ask this kid to bring his math textbook with him when you study, so that you can ensure you're giving him the right info! Good luck!

  4. Hey, I'm in Grade 10 at the moment. So far we've studied Algebra (following on from Grade 9), Trigonometry, Geometry, Proportion and Probability. Hope it helps.

  5. Either Geometry or Algebra II. Depends what he took freshmen year and the school. If he took Algebra I then it'll most likely be Geometry. But some schools make you do Algebra II first then Geometry. If he took Geometry freshmen year, then Algebra II. If he took Algebra II freshmen, then Geometry.

  6. Often, sophomores take Alg 2/Trig. It really depends on the school and state.

  7. they take algebra 2 trig for regular students.

  8. I took Geometry in 10th grade. However, I was in a school for gifted students. I don't really know what math the 10th graders in the "regular" schools took. Also, this is one of those things that can vary from state to state, or from county to county (or even city to city).

My suggestion: find out if he has already had Algebra. The math curriculum at my high school was laid out thusly:

    9th grade: Algebra I

    10 grade: Geometry

    11 grade: Algebra II

  9. i live in fl.    its algerbra 2. this coming yr. im taking geometry for 9th grade and last yr. i took algerbra1. so im almost positive.
