There is a resurgence in bed bugs.  That could be your problem.

Dried sweat will make people itch.  Also, you could be allergic to the fabirc softener, detergent, startch, or linen spray you use on your bed sheets.  As for it being worse when lying next to your partner, that could be that you sweat more when they're closer (body heat) which will make your allergy to whatever it is worse.

Well, maybe bed bugs, flea's, or allergy to the soap or sofener used on the sheets too.
