  1. Italian Breakfast

    Hearty breakfast of Italian sausage with eggs in French bread smothered in spaghetti sauce.

    Recipe by Papa Cantella

    Ingredients

    2 Italian sausage links, Hot or spicy

    1/2 cup spaghetti sauce

    2 tablespoons butter

    4 French bread slices, 1 inch thick

    4 large eggs

    2 tablespoons parmesan cheese

    Directions

    Cook the sausage using about 1/4 inch of water in the bottom of a pan and cover. Fry the sausage when the water is gone until browned. Heat the spaghetti sauce, then reduce heat and cover to keep warm until serving.

    Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in frying pan over medium heat. Cut a 2 inch hole in each slice of bread and butter one side. Put 2 slices of bread into the frying pan butter side up. Crack 1 egg carefully into the hole in each slice of bread and cook for about two minutes. Flip bread and eggs over to butter side for another minute. Add more butter if needed.

    Serve with one sausage link and pour some spaghetti sauce over the eggs. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

  3. Breakfast: croissant, biscotti and coffee, granita and brioche

    Lunch: Biggest meal of the day. Starts with pasta, then proceeds to some sort of meat and vegetable and bread, and ends with fruit.

    Dinner: lighter meal. if a lot of meat was eaten during the day, then they'll opt for pasta, or vegetable dishes.

    Dessert: Not an everyday thing. gelato. cannoli. etc.

    Tomato and cheese are in almost everything. Chicken cutlets or meatballs are served several times a week. and pasta is a daily ritual. Fresh tomato sauce is made every Sunday, and the entire family gathers to eat it together. bread is at every meal regardless.  Breakfast is light and is usually just coffee and cookies to dunk into it.

    *** hey Angel, I'm Italian and just to let you know. no Italian would eat that for breakfast. It's too rich and hearty. That's an American dish with Italian-esque influences.

  4. Hi, I'm italian I will try to explain what we served for each meal.

    For breakfast we usually have cappuccino with brioches, or milk and coffee with biscuits, or milk and cereal, or fruit juice or yogurt and fruits

    At lunch and dinner we usually have pasta, meat and vegetables.... I work and for lunch I always eat a salad or sandwich, and I dinner with pasta and meat or fish...

    You can cook pasta in several way, like carbonara, bolognese etc... There's a website called "cookaround" where you can find a lot of italian recipe

    4 Eggs

    Salt & Pepper

    1 Cup Warm Spaghetti Sauce

    4 Oz. Sliced Mozzarella Cheese

    2 Tbsp. Grated Parmesan Cheese

    Directions:

    Spray a medium skilled with non-stick cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Carefully slip each egg into skillet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Immediately reduce heat to low. Cook 5 minutes or until whites are set; turn eggs. Gently pour warm spaghetti sauce into skillet. Cook over low heat until eggs are cooked to desired doneness. Top with sliced mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. Broil briefly to melt cheeses.
