What measures should be taken to improve other games rather than only cricket at international level ?

this is in regard of seeing INDIA performing good at Olympics 2008 & when the players belong to not so high socio-economic section of the society?

When voluntering for coaching whether it is in chess snooker or cricket the first important fact is to ignore any pre conceived ideas on your own ability and technique.

A coach or teacher is only as good as the students capacity to absorb the detail in the lessons given.

Retaining some of your own ideas is a very common trait, and is the reason many good teachers loose the patience to teach.

When a student finds lessons difficult, it is only made difficult by trying to fit in your own old ideas that have probable become habitial.

The answer is exposure of other games and athletes . It might not be the complete answer but it might lead to it. We indians lack proper knowledge on sports , on its rules and the athletes representing the respective games.First people should know about the game and promotr them to play in  international events .With the amount of media exposure given to cricket it is impossible for oher sportsmen/women to even feature in a ten second news item, unless something big happens like winning a medal .

A sporting culture should be developed in our country to prosper in terms of sports.Other factors are money and politics in sports.More money should come in and politics & politicians should go out  .
