  1. Definitely, its 'voltmeter'.

You've to apply its terminals across/parallel to the component, across which you want to measure voltage difference. Its simple.

There is an ammeter with which you can measure current only. For this, yopu've to put its terminals in series with the component, through which you want to measure current.

  2. a voltmeter or ampmeter not sure which one. just google it!

  3. Do you mean an instrument to measure these values??

Then it would be a "Multimeter"....it can measure Voltage, Current & Resistance....

  4. - Potential difference is measured in volts, V.

    - Potential difference across a component in a circuit is measured using a voltmeter.

    - The voltmeter must be connected in parallel with the component.

  5. For measuring only potential difference u can use Voltmeter.

If you want to measure current, potential diff & resistance using

only one meter u can use multimeter.

  6. Voltmeter
