Don't laugh. I know vegetarians don't eat meat, but some eat fish. I have been one for about 4 months now, and I heard that you can eat fish. I was wondering if thats true for all seafood.

  1. Well if you do eat fish you are considered a pescetarian but it really doesn't matter.  I'd say you can still call yourself a vegetarian because if not, you'll have to explain to people what a pescetarian is.

  2. some vegetarians eat fish and some don't. if you want to it's fine. it depends on your reason for becoming a vegetarian. you can eat seafood as long as it's just fish. mostly, vegetarians would eat fish just for protein and health reason. you can eat whatever fish you want. look for ingredients and go from there.

there are plently of veggie meats that vegetarians can eat as well. i recomend Morning Star as a brand. their products are made from soy and are all vegetarian. here's a link:

check this out and look into it if you want. =]

    hope i helped!

  3. Nut meat and fake meat made out of soy or whatever.

    Real vegetarians don't eat fish.

  4. Vegetarians is secretly a cult that hunt other people down

You my friend are a cannibal

  5. No vegetarian eats the flesh of any dead animal ever, period, no matter what.  Anyone who eats fish is not a vegetarian.  The whole point of vegetarianism (and the definition of the word) is to NOT EAT ANIMALS.

Here is the definition from the people who made up the word: http://www.vegsoc.org/info/definitions.h...

Eat whatever you want, but do the real vegetarians a favor and don't run around calling yourself one if you're going to eat animals.  You'll just confuse someone else the way you've been misled by hearing "that you can eat fish."

  6. man meat

  7. If you eat fish, then you are a pescetarian not a vegetarian. Vegetarians eat no meat not even fish or any seafood.

  8. Coconut meat

  9. pescatarian?

lay off the labels and just eat whatever you want to eat.

    all seafood? yup.

  10. A vegetarian who eats fish is called a pescatarian, because of health issues or choice, or a beleif that fish is not classified as 'meat'.

It's up to you if you'd like to be one, just eat what feels right.

  11. What do you mean by "I heard that you can eat fish". You sound like you've joined a cult. I'm not sure why you chose to be vegetarian, but sea creatures feel pain and suffer so humans can eat their flesh just like land mammals.

If you want to eat fish (not sure why you would) then you are a pescetarian, not a vegetarian.

    Vegetarians can eat mock meat

  12. When it comes to what you eat, you make the rules. Why should you worry about some definition?

  13. No vegetarian eats fish.  Fish are animals.

  14. Im new to vegetarianism also (about 4 months myself). the last meat I ate was crawfish, and it freaked me out.

it sounds like maybe you are struggling with going completely without.

    its definately an adjustment.

search yourself for what you feel is right for you.

have you tried TVP yet? I just tried it the other day, in my pasta sauce.

    it is really good!

Im going to make TVP tacos next :)

  15. there are many types of vegetarians, some say they don't eat meat at all, but some eat eggs and consumes milk.

  16. People that eat fish are not vegetarians.

    Vegetarians do not eat animals.

Fish, shrimp, oysters and clams are all animals.

  17. Eh.

The way you said "I heard that you can eat fish" seems like you're vegetarian for image reasons.

Anyways, technically speaking vegetarians eat absolutely no meat.

No poultry, no seafood, no red meat.

If you want to start getting into specifics, a pescatarian consumes fish.

    Pescatarian is NOT vegetarian.

Vegetarians can have milk, it's vegans that don't consume milk.

Although, there is an argument between whether or not vegetarians can eat eggs.

That one is more of your choice.

  18. Vegetarians can eat seafood. They are called pescetarians.

  19. Vegetarians don't eat any mean at all.  No fish, or seaweed.  No insects either (I know that sounds stupid but red dye is made of insect shells, so it's in the same category as gelatin, which I'm trying to drop right now)  Las time I checked, fish was an animal's body.
