Question:

What medication would the psychiatrist give me?

I have anorexia and social anxiety. Borderline depression

Would I get anti-depressant or anxiety medication?

Is there a difference?

What would the two in comparison do to me (not the side effects, but would they make me really hyper or really mellow or...)?

  1. Noone can tell you except a qualified Dr. in the specific field.  That's why they have a license.  It is dangerous to speculate.  Just "go to the source".

A note:  all medicines don't have the same effects on all people.  It is hard to say and to tell without seeing an expert in this.  The Dr. will undoubtedly have you try a med. he will prescribe for your symptoms then you will find out how your system takes to it.  It is all about trial.  noone can just tell you how you will react to a pill.

Besides, certain ones can't be taken together.  may be incompatable.    Again, only a qualified Dr. who has your medical history can know how to treat you.

              Good luck.

  2. I don't think the antidepressant would make you really hyper. But the anxiety medication will most likely mellow you out.

Now,you didn't specify if you were actually seeing a psychiatrist or not, so I'm not sure what your plans are with that.

You say you have anorexia. I know you didn't ask for any advice on this but since you mentioned it...your anxiety may be related to this. A lot of people who are anorexic develop anxiety problems as it progresses.Your bloodsugar levels and also the nutitional/vitiamin deficiencies in your body are contributing to this. If you are seeing a psychiatrist, I think this would be something to adress. It may not be the only cause of the anxiety, but it definitely doesn't help.

I hope you can adress this and get well.

Big hug from a former anorexic

    Take care...

  3. well if you can't sit for 2 seconds and need to get up and do things to the point of exhaustion then he/she might give you a suppressant to calm you down.

and also you might need an anti-depressent.

not to worry it will all turn out just fine. Just keep that doctors appointment.

    Cheers and good luck
