  1. antibiotics

  2. well when my mom went she took insects repellent, lots of sun block, and some medicine for like it when get sick due to the food and stuff

  3. Bring them gummy bear. You know in Vietnam they are poor so the kids will appriciate some kind of candies like gummy bear and it is good too

  4. What are you saying? That you are taking a 5 yr old to Vietnam? Very confusing. Assuming you can take the kid to Vietnam, consider not taking the kid to Vietnam.

  5. You should get all your traveling shots first to prevent you from illnesses. But when you get that then all you need is some sunblock (it's really hot there) and mosquito prevention cream.

  6. flintstone vitamines

  7. Bring mosquito repellent, hand sanitizer (or those individual wet wipes), sun block.

  8. Robitussin?

  9. I have a 6 year old daughter and we travel around Asia quite a bit because we are living in Korea for a few years.

Here is my advice, or at least what has gotten me through:

    1.  Children's Motrin.  (for basic fever reducing/pain killing needs)

    2.  Some sort of children's cold med., to help her sleep if she gets sick.

    3. band-aids and neosporin, for the most basic things you will never think about.  (ie, they scratch the mosquito bite til it bleeds or get a blister from walking too much)

    4.  Children's Anti-itch, Anti-cough and Anti-fever PATCHES.

Have you tried these at home?  they are a life saver on a trip.  They are like big band-aids.  The anti-cough patches are sometimes called vapor patches.  I do not like to give my child a lot of meds, so for a cough that hurts her throat, or won't let her sleep, I put a vapor patch on her chest/throat area.

The anti-itch patches can be cut to the size of the irritation to stop her from scratching it raw.

The anti-fever patches go on hte forehead at night, to let her cool down and get to sleep.  (better than holding the cold rag to her head or giving her more meds)

These patches are sold in any drug store in the states, or on-line.

    5. Children's Benedryl, in case a bite makes her puff up.

    6.  Anti-diahrreal med.  (use only if advised by doctor.. in most cases..hydration will be fine)

And that's it in my medical bag

Are you going in the summer or warmer months?

My daughter always carries her own can of Evian facial mist.. it is just like a can of water that she mists on her face.. it comes out cool, not room temperature and it makes her feel happier when she gets grumpy from the weather.

It is a small price to pay for peace.

(and I pack those in the checked luggage and have never had a problem with them expoding from cabin pressure or anything.. just got back from China with a few of them yesterday)

  10. Penicillin.
