  1. You have an arsenal of options when you offshore: Dramamine: which should be taken an hour before your trip; TransDerm Scop (a patch that is placed under and behind the ear), ginger pills (which can be bought over-the-counter), and Bonine (similar to Dramamine). I would stick with the Dramamine, it's never let me down before.  Also: 1) try to stay near the back of the boat (the up-and-down motion is as bad), and 2) if you go out on an empty stomach, you're just to laid out on the deck; take some of those cracker sandwiches that are sold in packs of six and eat 2 or 3 if you start to feel queasy.  Also, if you go out on a charter boat and notice someone who likes to talk but isn't, that could be an early sign of seasickness.  Hope this helps! Tight lines!! :D

  2. Take Dramamine BEFORE getting on the boat.  Pills or a patch.  I hear people say they like the patch better.  Dramamine can make you sleepy, so drink a Red Bull if you can take the caffine.  Take some pain reliever with you...there's nothing worse than getting a headache and not being able to do anything about it.  Don't lay down in the salon on the way out and don't hang out in the head if you feel bad.  Stay on the deck as much as possible and look at the horizon to keep you in balance.  Have fun and remember to tip the mates!

  3. go to Wal-mart and get the Wal-mart brand of motion sickness pills - ask the pharmacist.  Remember to follow the directions and take them BEFORE you leave or they won't do any good.  Make sure you have a good breakfast and drink plenty of water the day before and the day of the trip.

You should be fine - don't lean over and stare at the water - I've seen so many people to it then puke.
