  1. It all depends on how many pictures you think you will take before you are able to load them onto a computer. I would buy a sandisk 2gb compact flash card. The price depends on where you get it - you can get it from bestbuy for about $50, or from ebay for $30-$60. Sandisk is a really good brand, and I think you should do a lot of research on this before you invest in such an expensive camera. Just remember that pictures taken in high megapixels will take up a lot of room.

  2. Right now they are selling 8GB cards for under $40 ... that is a good deal, so that said, you should be able to find a couple of nice 2GB cards for around $14 each.

Just refrain from buying the cards off the Internet ... that is where all the fake cards are coming from.  Wait until the weekend ads come out and find the lease expensive CF cards you can afford.

  3. since you are looking at a dslr, go with a san disk extreme card, size atleast 2GB, price of the cards are pretty cheap, just wait for a sale.  Shouldn't be more than like 20 - 40$.

  4. photoace,

I don't believe that is a fair assesment of online businesses.  I have purchased a vast array of memory cards from digitaldealz.net, all of which have been totally legitimate from the manufacturer themselves.  I cannot speak for other online businesses, but I do know that digitaldealz.net sells real memory cards, not fake replicas.
