i play the guitar and want to learn metallica songs... however im such a 'pro' guitarist... i can play songs like 'before i forget' from slipknot... 'smells like teen spirit' by nirvana...

If you want a really good workout, learn the older stuff.  The rhythm part in Damage Inc. is insane, and remember he's using all downstrokes!  Stuff like that and Phantom Lord will make you a stronger guitarist all-around, when you can play it up to speed.

For whom the bell tolls is a very easy and fun to play song their isnt really aa super complicated solo in it.

Also seek and destroy is really fun and easy, the solo section is tough though
