MY FRIEND THINKS THAT YOU ONLY GET SELECTED FOR JURY DUTY IF YOUR REGISTERED TO VOTE. I WAS TOLD THEY CHOOSE YOU BASED ON DRIVERS LICENSE RECORDS. IT MAY BE A COMBINATION OF THE TWO BUT EITHER WAY I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.

  1. It depends on the jurisdiction.  It used to be that most places chose based on voter registration though some areas have switched to department of transportation records.  In reality they can do whatever they want as long as the person lives in the jurisdiction where the trial is being held and they are at least 18 years of age.

  3. Here in Washington the list is created from all government databases, drivers licenses, vehicle licenses, professional licenses, voter registration etc.

  4. Indeed, it all depends on where you live.  The system for selecting jurors is decided by each state, not by the federal government.  Ergo, there are fifty different jury selection systems.
