It's a question in a practice geography paper and I don't understand how a farmer can influence the weather because they don't make any greenhouse gases or anything.

  1. Farmers cannot do anything to influence the weather.

As for the production of green house gases cattle and sheep produce Methane which is a green house gass according to scientists. Here in New Zealand research is being carried out to reduce methane production by animals and the microbe responsible has been identified however further research is continuing to find out how to control it.

All of this research is as a result of the Government's proposal to tax farmers for methane production at so much for each animal. This is commonly known as the "f**t Tax". The proposal was defeated.

  2. Ritual sacrifices. Children are best.
