  1. Same as everywhere else -- horse-drawn carriages and riding on horseback...  Pack horses were rarely used, as Russia is mostly flat.  Donkeys are uncommon in Russia, and thus there were no mules, either.

    One peculiarly Russian mode of transportation was by barges that sailed the inland waterways drawn by humans walking on the bank:

  2. Dzorka, horse, mule, donkey drawn cart. walking , horse back, carriage for the upper class. and boats on rivers etc.
