I'm not sure what all these things are, should they be replaced also?

ball joint

hub and bearing

stabilizer bar/shaft link

other - please specify

Also, I got bilsteins if that matters. I thought some shocks come with these new parts built in.

  1. the only thing in changing shocks is the shocks you may want to change stabilizer bar bushings if they look split. all the other things named are replace as needed items.

I'll argue that the only way to learn new things is to try something new just have a manual on hand chiltons or what ever from part store and read all the instructions before you start the work.

  2. you probably shouldn't be doing repairs on things when you dont know what they are. you also didnt say what car you have or the mileage? why are you replacing shocks in the first place? all the parts listed are parts of the suspension whether or not they are bad determines if they get replaced. all broken bushings should be replaced. usually strut and shock mounts should be replaced with struts and shocks and those will most likely not come with the shocks. are you doing this yourself ??? if so I would highly suggest against it you could seriously injure yourself and others if you incorrectly decompress a spring, people have died!  if your not doing it yourself let the shop worry about what to replace and let them get the parts also so if something fails they cant blame your parts. good luck and dont try and take on something your not ready for.
