I am 22 yrs old. My bf is 24. We have not been using any protection(birth control/condoms). I just have this suspicion that something is wrong with me and i can't get pregnant. I had half of my vulobian tube taken out. Can someone please let me know as to maybe why i might not be pregnant yet? If you need any other info let me know and i'll post it as details. Thanks

  1. Hmm...well the body produces an egg from either the left or right side of the Fallopian tube...so your chances are a little lower only because one of your Fallopian tubes is missing. But you can still get pregnant since your other one is functioning!

It's crazy...here you are, trying your hardest to get pregnant..and then on Yahoo answers, you see 13 year olds posting  questions about how they became pregnant, whether they should or should not have the baby, and how they're so scared because their parents are going to find out and the kicker is...they weren't even trying to get pregnant in the first place!

It's almost a joke, really. Just as a little story, My husband and I tried to conceive for a while year. Last year around Thanksgiving time, it finally happened. I think it wasn't happening for a whole year because I was stressing so much over it. I kept thinking about the baby. I kept counting days, researching my ovulation charts, reading about all kinds of crazy methods to conceive a child. I had baby on the brain. Finally in November last year, I gave up. I had a move to think about. I had to pack things, clothes, furniture...had to get an apartment, start paying new bills with my husband, make a road trip to our new state..things were hectic and I forgot about baby-making, and somewhere around that time, it happened. I think when you are anticipating a child, your body isn't going to respond only because of how the stress hormones are high even though you don't know it. And this can even put your cycle off. It sucks, really. I have some really helpful sites for you though..you should check them out:

Good luck..I know it's so freakin frustrating...but it will happen. Like I said, we tried for a year..now I'm 37 weeks and almost ready to say Hello to my own little one. I do wish you the best.

  2. well, how long have you been trying. it can take anywhere from the first try to 2 yrs before you get pregnant. i know just how you feel though cause i had a cyst on my ovary when i was little and the doctors say I'm fine but you cant help but worry. try this first off stress can be a major factor, second make s*x fun for you and your partner the more arouse he is the better the sperm count. third use natural lubricants your own is best but if not use egg whites i know it sounds weird but it actually helps the swimmers b/c it has calcium and they live longer and get there faster. fourth prayer... its help you calm down and i guarantee with faith it will happen. good luck

    lots of baby dust..

  3. you should talked to a doctor to see how they can help you as well given that you don't have your fallopian tube...you might need fertility treatments to be able to conceive but you'll be able to :) you can also ask a fertility specialist online for free for advice on this, try this website, FertilityTies

    good luck!

  4. maybe if you stop thinking about it so hard. ive noticed that more ppl gt pregnant when their not trying to or when their not putting so much energy in it.. good luck

  5. Do you mean a "fallopian tube"? And why would they only take out half?

You ovulate from one ovary each month. So if the ovary from the removed side has no tube, the egg cannot travel down to be fertilized. So your chances are cut in half right there. Even for women that have an egg available every month, they only have a 25% chance of concieving and a concieved egg has a 75% chance of not developing, so it takes a while to get pg. sometimes.

It can take a normal healthy sexually active couple up to one year to get pg. With only one tube, you may take longer.

  6. there are all kinds of reasons why you havent concieved yet. have you talked with your doctor??
