    In that again, South Africa scores over all other countries. Everything with the notable exception of 'Petroleum' is available and mined there. In global percentages terms, she produces more than half of gold, with the neighbouring Zimbabwe produces 2/3 of Chromites; leading producer of diamonds (gem quality), major producer of Iron ore, coal (coking), Manganese, Bauxite, non ferrous metals like Zinc, lead, Cadmium. Also produces other important minerals and ores.

    Major Copper producers are the contiguous areas of Zambia and Katanga region of Congo. Leading iron ore producers are Algeria, Mauritania. Apatite (Phosphate ore) which is constituent of animal bones is produced in Morocco and Western (formerly Spanish) Sahara. Bauxite is mined in  Ghana which is laso a major Manganese producer. Congo is the largest producer of industrial (black) diamonds used in cutters and petroleum drilling equipment. Sierra Leone (Lion hills) is a leading source of diamonds. Gabon, Chad and Niger are Uranium producers. Gabon Uranium is used in the first atom bombs used in the world war II. Leading petroleum producers are Nigeria, Egypt, Libya and Algeria and now joined by Sudan.
