  1. They really are not related to each other in most cases. BPH is commonly found in men over age 40.


  2. It depends on the Basic Chem or Comp. Chem panel in a given patient.  Alk Phos. is neither an electrolyte nor a mineral but a derangement in this can be seen in BPH.
