These expressions get used all the time, and are often so mangled that they are either completely nonsensical and/or contradictory. Which ones particularly bother you?

  1. "I could care less" and any phrase that includes a double negative.

  2. between you and I

  3. manafactures for manufacturers

    vunnerable for vulnerable

I get particularly annoyed with Aussie newsreaders who replace the letter T with a D and or an N

There are twenny reasons why this madders to me.

Oooh I feel sooo much bedder now. Thanks for the question.

  4. "I could care less" (should be "couldn't care less")

"for all intensive purposes" (should be "for all intents and purposes")

"in this day in age" (should be "in this day and age")

    "supposably" (should be "supposedly")

These are the first four that popped into my head, but I know there are dozens more that drive me crazy when I hear them or read them.  When I think of some more, I'll be back to edit this response.

  5. When people say 'off your own back'.  It should be 'off your own bat'.  Since it's a British/Australian idiom, it almost certainly has a cricketing origin.  In what world does 'off your own back' make sense, anyway?
